These past two months have literally been a blur and I have no idea how they went by. Sometimes it’s like I wake up and realize that I am the mother of TWO little ones and not one anymore, but in the same time it feels like it has always been this way. Even if the tiredness is an official state of being, some days are like a mission to complete and there is always a huge checklist screaming “Hey there!” I wouldn’t have it any other way.
In the past weeks I slowly started to catch up on some of the projects that have been waiting forever. Since I’ve been posting little sneak peeks of work on my social media I have also been asked this question a lot: “How do you manage to do it all?”. This makes me smile. The truth is, I am not able to do it all, I really wish I was super woman, but I am not. Considering the priorities, I am doing what I can, when I can, but consistently. The thing that helped me a lot was setting up a little work space corner where I can (safely) leave all my art supplies and projects; this way I go there and work when I can (that’s usually when the baby naps or early in the mornings), and sometimes the dishes or the laundry might wait. It’s a longer process and I am not able to work uninterrupted, but it’s working fine for me at this point. Luckily, Emma naps often during the day and Sammy is obsessed with his new birthday Lego sets, so that helps too. :)
Our summer has been pretty calm so far, soaking this time with a sweet new baby and getting used with the new things. Jeremy has been gone a lot since he is crazy busy with work, like most of his summers, so that’s not so fun. We are spending our time in the neighborhood’s playgrounds in the cooler parts of the day and in the house being stocked up on ice-cream, watermelon, cold water and juices. But I am hoping for some pool days and maybe even a short seaside trip in the near future.
I am (so) behind my emails and I apologize if I have not replied to some of you yet. I am making it a goal this week, so if you still don’t receive a reply by Monday, I am kindly asking you to resend it, I might have unintentionally lost it.
And if you have read all this, thank you! And, thank you also for following along, for your kind words and encouragements! They really mean so much to me right now! x x
